Miyagi prefecture, famous for its beautiful nature, owes much of this to the 80+ rivers and streams located within the prefecture. Naturally, this means that there are many nutrients in the soil and environment. The water and soil quality of Miyagi lends itself to produce delicious and high quality rice.
Hitomebore is a special rice with a gentle flavour. It has a perfect amount of glossiness and stickiness, and is very delicious yet extremely smooth. Because of that, it goes very well with all types of Japanese food. The grains are bigger than Koshihikari hence a popular choice for restaurants like “Teishokuya”(restaurants that offer set meals) with plenty of dishes.
